1. Prof. Mustafa Serkan Durdu professional summary:

Prof. Mustafa Serkan Durdu is a cardiovascular surgeon with more than 25 years of experience in adult cardiac and vascular surgery. Most of that experience was built at Ankara University Faculty of Medicine, one of Türkiye’s leading academic cardiovascular surgery departments. His clinical and academic work centres on minimally invasive cardiac surgery. This includes valve repair and replacement through a right anterior mini-thoracotomy, sutureless aortic valve replacement, multiple-valve procedures, and combined valve and coronary bypass surgery performed without a full sternotomy.

Alongside his surgical training he completed postgraduate work in basic biotechnology and genetics, which underpins his research on the molecular basis of cardiovascular disease. He has published as lead author in major international journals, including The Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery. He is a member of the leading European and international societies for cardiothoracic and minimally invasive cardiac surgery.

He currently practises at Memorial Göztepe Hospital in Istanbul, across the Cardiovascular Surgery department, the Cardiovascular Surgery Intensive Care Unit and the Robotic Surgery Center.
