Liver cirrhosis, a life-threatening disease, prompted Mrs. Radiya Al-Mahmoudi to seek treatment in Turkey for healing and recovery. The 66-year-old Moroccan woman suffered from advanced cirrhosis caused by non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, requiring a liver transplant as a last resort. Over four years, she experienced severe symptoms, including a prolonged hepatic coma, leading to intensive care. After her family contacted Şafak Medical, her case was reviewed by Professor Bulent Onal, a top liver specialist, who confirmed the urgent need for a transplant. After receiving approval, travel arrangements were made, and upon arrival in Istanbul, she was taken directly to the center for surgery.
After a week of thorough evaluations, Mrs. Radiya and her donor underwent tests to confirm their eligibility for the transplant. The liver transplant surgery was successfully performed by Professor Bulent Onal, and Mrs. Radiya left the center after 15 days of recovery. She continued her recovery while maintaining contact with her doctor for regular health assessments. The transplant gave her a renewed chance at life, allowing her to bond more with her children, grandchildren, and especially her donor grandson from Germany.
